Experience:
PhD (2017-2024) Ankara University, Biotechnology Institute, Ankara, Turkiye.
M.Sc. (2014-2016) Balıkesir University, Molecular Biology and Genetic, Balıkesir, Turkiye
B.Sc. (2009-2013) Gazi University, Biology Department, Institute of Science, Ankara, Turkiye.
Research: In my doctoral research, I evaluated the efficacy of T-cell vaccines for Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) using in silico, in vitro, and in vivo methods. Throughout both my master’s and doctoral studies, and in various projects, I gained strong expertise in molecular biology, microbiology, and immunological techniques, including flow cytometry, ELISA, cytokine profiling, and immune cell phenotyping. I have applied these skills to analyze immune responses across different research settings. In one of my postdoctoral projects, I aim to enhance aptamer-mediated therapy for prostate cancer, while another focuses on exploring the therapeutic potential of antigen-specific Tregs in Type 1 Diabetes.

Research Area:
Recently, I have been working on foodborne pathogen detection via aptamer-based biosensors and development of microfluidic devices for POC testing of foodborne pathogens. The current needs of the research area have also led me to study the novel aptamer selection methods such as M-SELEX, and design, development and production of modified magnetic capture tools for M-SELEX procedures and non-destructive rapid detection of whole cell target structures.

Research Area:
I have dedicated my efforts to unraveling the intricate landscape of ischemia-reperfusion injury and vascular dysfunction, with a specific focus on exploring the therapeutic potential of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donors. Currently, my research endeavors are directed towards pioneering a novel approach to treat ischemia-reperfusion injury. This involves the innovative integration of an ATP production system within cells.

Experience:
During my four-year degree course in Biology, I gained extensive hands-on experience in
molecular genetics techniques such as DNA isolation, electrophoresis, PCR, and protein
quantification methods. I completed an internship at Gen Pharmaceuticals and Health Products Inc., where I developed proficiency in analyzing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products and gained practical insights into microbiological quality control processes. Currently, I am in the coursework period of my master’s degree program, acquiring both theoretical and practical knowledge in physiology.

Research
I am part of the MNP group as an intern within TÜBİTAK’s STAR Intern scholarship program. In this research group, I am responsible for synthesizing and applying micro and nanoparticles within the project titled “Synthesis and Applications of Aptamer-Tagged Fluorescent Hybrid Particles with Microfluidic Systems.” My primary responsibilities include observing the behavior of synthesized particles in microfluidic systems and evaluating their applications in materials characterization and chemical environments. Through this interdisciplinary research, I aim to enhance my knowledge and skills in nanoparticle synthesis and gain valuable insights into integrating aptamer-based systems into innovative applications. This opportunity allows me to broaden my perspective and improve my expertise while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

I am part of MNP group as a long-term intern under TUBITAK’s STAR Intern scholarship program. In this research group, I am responsible for observing and analysing integration of nanoparticles, which we produce, with organic environments and systems such as types of bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella etc.) and types of organic multicellular tissues. I am aiming to gain knowledge and experience by working within an interdisciplinary project and improve in my own profession while learning different perspectives on a common subject.
